For sixty-four years since its expansion, our school has grown across more than half a century. On Monday, 17th November, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., we held the “64th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service” and the Opening Ceremony of the “Library and School History Gallery” in the school hall.
We were greatly honoured to have Dr Arnold Cheng Cheuk Sang, President of the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong; Rev. Samuel Lau Yan Tak, Chairman of the Education Committee of the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong; Prof. Yuen-Sang Leung, Chairman of the School Management Board; Board members The Rt. Rev. Dr. Thomas Soo, JP, Mr David Wong, Dr. Eddie Ho,
Ms. Pauline Ng, JP, and Mr. Wong Nga Chung; School Supervisor Dr. Man Wing Yan; Alumni Association Chairman Mr. Alex Lam; and Parent-Teacher Association Chairlady Ms. Fanny Cheung as our officiating guests. Their presence made the occasion especially solemn and memorable.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Rev. Samuel Lau Yan Tak for preaching during the service, sharing with all teachers and students the theme message of “Thanksgiving and Praise” and passages from the Psalms. The Rt. Rev. Dr. Thomas Soo also prayed for our school anniversary and offered blessings. On the same day, nearly thirty alumni and twenty Parent-Teacher Association committee members and volunteers returned to their alma mater to celebrate the anniversary with all staff and students, and to witness together the official opening of the new Library and School History Gallery. The Student Union thoughtfully prepared anniversary games, enabling students to share the joy in an atmosphere filled with laughter.
Amid hymns of thanksgiving and praise, the 64th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service and the Opening Ceremony of the Library and School History Gallery concluded joyfully and successfully, marking a new chapter in the development of our school.
