Christian Education

Chinese Y.M.C.A. Secondary School was founded by Chinese Y.M.C.A. of Hong Kong. We strive to provide quality Christian education to bring out the best in pupils spiritually, morally, intellectually, physically, socially and aesthetically following the guidance of the Bible and the teachings of Jesus.

Teachers and students lead worship and share messages in morning assemblies every Monday and every other Friday, allowing students to experience and feel the wonder and love of God. In order to enable students to have a deeper understanding of what it means to "think critically, learn diligently, seek truthfully and act sensibly", our school provides religious education (Christianity) in S1 - S3 to allow students to know and understand the truth of the Bible, and to inspire students to think about the meaning of life through different themes and value. Since 2022, we have cooperated with the Great Wall Education Foundation to optimize and reform the junior high school curriculum, introduce church volunteers, and use experiential learning content to guide students to understand Christian values according to their needs, so as to think critically and seek truthfully.

We set great store by Christian atmosphere and firmly believe that the morals of the Bible can change students’ lives. A great number of photos printed with quotes from the Bible are displayed around the campus to encourage and remind students and to bring them blessings. Starting from 2011, Malkoshe Church has been planted in C.Y.M.C.A.S.S. Pastor Suen, Associate Pastor Szeto and two Ministry Assistants have been serving students for more than 10 years. They have close contact with and care for students, and accompany them to grow up. Through the “Home of Christ”, students have more room to experience faith.

Our school has co-curricular activities that combine art and faith, such as "Basic Jewelry & Alpha", "Pop Guitar Class", "Blessing Our Heart - Music & Art", etc. On Saturdays, Malkoshe Church organizes interest groups and other auxiliary groups, to attend to students’ diverse needs. Thus, through different channels and different means we strive to create a loving and caring culture within the school.
