Vision and Mission
School Information and School Vision:
 

Chinese YMCA Secondary School was founded in 1961 by the Chinese Y.M.C.A of Hong Kong. Since its establishment, the school has been serving the community by providing top quality education in which students pursue academic excellence and spiritual fulfillment. In 2000, the school relocated from Sheung Wan to its present premises in Tin Shui Wai, and to meet this new environment, the school committed itself to set a new standard in facilities available to the students and the highest quality of teaching and learning. Eight years on, the school entered a new era by becoming eligible to operate under the Direct Subsidy Scheme (DSS).

When we first moved from Sheung Wan to Tin Shui Was, ‘SAR’ has always been the vision of CYMCASS. We believe if students are to be “Successful”, then the school must be “Accountable” and maintain a good “Rapport” with students’ parents. With the vision of ‘SAR’, the school’s good reputation has grown considerably over the past years.

In September 2008, our school was successfully granted permission by EDB to operate under the Direct Subsidy Scheme (DSS). From then on, the vision of ‘SAR’ has given birth to ‘KEY Education’. “Knowledge” is the foundation; “Experience” gives students the chance to apply the knowledge and “Youth movement” keeps it all fresh and interesting for our students. With ‘SAR’ as the school’s vision, and ‘KEY Education’ as the model, students at CYMCASS will truly be ready to meet the challenges of the 21st century and we will take our students on a “Journey to Excellence”.

In the implementation of ‘SAR’ and ‘KEY’, the following are the school’s four major concerns:

- Build a professional teaching force
- Cultivate a well-balanced character in students
- Construct a trusting partnership with students’ parents
- Optimise the school’s facilities and learning environment


Mission statement:

Our school strives to provide quality Christian education to bring out the best in pupils spiritually, morally, intellectually, physically, socially and aesthetically in accordance with the bible and Jesus’ teachings. We regard cultivating a Christian character in students as our ultimate goal.

School Mission:

We follow and practise our school motto ‘Glorify God and Love others’: we encourage our students to cultivate a well-balanced character based upon bible to meet the challenges of the ever-changing world. Under the harmonious learning atmosphere, students can truly develop a character of self-respect and respect for God and others.
